3 Stars for Red Cliff 2

Watched Red Cliff 2 yesterday at Vivo City, the continuation to Red Cliff which screened a few months back.
Personally, I felt it wasn't as interesting as the first part. But if you like to watch the battle scenes then you would enjoy the show. I prefer watching the planning & the strategising parts, which were kinda lacking. There was only 1 strategy used - fire attack & which was decided on the wind's direction.

My favourite part of the movie was the part where Zhuge Liang promised to produce 100,000 arrows for Zhou Yu's army after Liu Bei retreated his army from the alliance. Zhuge Liang made use of the fog to mislead Cao Cao's navy, used ships lined with straw & scarecrows to collect the arrows that Cao Cao's army fired at them. In order to direct Cao Cao's arrows towards his ships through the fog, Zhuge Liang instructed his army to maintain a constant drumming to guide Cao Cao's army's firing. The smartest part of all was when Zhuge Liang let 1 small boat float back to Cao Cao, which confirmed Cao Cao's suspicion of his 2 admirals plotting against him. At the top of his anger, Cao Cao beheaded the 2 admirals whom he realised he had to rely on them to lead his navy. That started Cao Cao's failure in the battle.
Oh ya, at least Lin Chi Ling had alot more scenes in this movie, more lines & she played a part in delaying Cao Cao's attack.
Things change, so do we. We grow up.
